Built for Screen Printing at Scale
Cool Air isn't simply a company that offers screen printing. Screen printing is one of the foundations our company was built on.
Our in-house production infrastructure allows us to maintain direct control over printing, quality, scheduling and finishing instead of sending production to an outside decorator.
Cool Air produces well over 1,000,000 decorated garments annually across our decoration departments and has successfully completed individual screen-printing programs exceeding 600,000 pieces.
Depending on artwork, garment, print specifications and production requirements, our facility is capable of producing more than 10,000 decorated pieces per day.
Why Screen Printing?
Screen printing remains one of the best decoration methods for producing durable, vibrant designs on custom apparel—particularly as quantities increase.
Each color in a design is printed using an individual screen, allowing specially formulated inks to be applied directly to the garment and cured for long-lasting performance.
Screen printing is particularly well suited for:
The Right Printing Method for the Right Project
Screen printing isn't automatically the best production method for every order. That's one of the advantages of working with Cool Air.
Because we offer screen printing, DTG, DTF, embroidery and other decoration options, we're able to recommend the production method that makes the most sense based on your artwork, garment, quantity, desired appearance, budget and deadline.
A one-piece, full-color photographic shirt, for example, may be better suited to DTG. A large run using a limited number of colors may be an excellent candidate for screen printing.
Our job isn't to sell you a particular printing process. It's to determine the best way to produce your project.
What Can We Screen Print?
Screen printing works exceptionally well across a wide variety of garments and apparel.
Garment construction, fabric content, color and intended use can all influence the appropriate ink and production method. Our team can help select apparel that works well both for the person wearing it and the decoration being applied.
From Artwork to Finished Product
Every successful screen-printing project starts before the first shirt reaches the press.
Our team can assist with garment selection, artwork preparation, graphic design, print sizing, placement and production planning. Before production begins, customers receive a digital proof for approval.

High-Volume Screen Printing
Large-volume screen printing requires more than a fast press.
It requires production planning, experienced operators, reliable equipment, garment procurement, ink management, quality control, finishing, warehousing and logistics.
Cool Air has experience managing screen-printing programs exceeding 600,000 pieces, giving our team firsthand knowledge of what it takes to execute projects where consistency and logistics become just as important as the actual printing.
Our Smithfield facility combines production, warehousing and fulfillment capabilities under one roof, allowing us to manage complex apparel programs from initial planning through final distribution.
Screen Printing Questions
How Long Does Screen Printing Take?
Typical custom apparel orders are completed in approximately 7–10 business days, depending on order size, garment availability, artwork, production complexity and timely proof approval.
Need it sooner? Ask us. Cool Air handles deadline-sensitive projects every day. Rush production may be available depending on the project specifications and our current production schedule.
Do You Have a Screen Printing Minimum?
Yes. Our normal minimum for traditional screen printing is 24 pieces.
Screen printing requires production setup for each design and print color, which generally makes it better suited to quantities of 24 pieces or more.
Need fewer? Cool Air also offers digital decoration methods such as DTG, including the ability to produce a single custom garment. Our team can recommend the most appropriate production method based on your quantity, artwork and garment.
Can You Handle Large Screen Printing Orders?
Yes. Cool Air's production infrastructure is designed to accommodate both everyday commercial screen-printing orders and extremely large programs.
We have successfully produced individual screen-printing programs exceeding 600,000 pieces, and depending on project specifications, our overall production capability can exceed 10,000 decorated pieces per day.
Do You Ship Screen-Printed Apparel?
Yes. Customers can pick up completed orders at our Smithfield, Rhode Island headquarters, and Cool Air ships throughout New England, nationwide and internationally.
